You, O Lord, have put this inside me: a desire for truth and a hatred of lies. I cannot stand dishonesty and deception, and I won't close my mouth when people talk foolishly. Why do they believe such nonsense when the truth is so clear that even children can see it? They hate Your rules and will believe anything to do what they want. How can they stand against You?
The enemy of the world runs like a gazelle and spreads deception everywhere, turning anyone who will give them their ear against You and Your ways. The voices on all sides of me are loud and endless and would have me to think like everyone else. They kill children in the womb and say it is not wrong. They say what is unnatural is to be praised, when men lie with men and women with women. They believe your world is more impotant than our souls and we must suffer to save it. We sing that you will bless us but we do not respect you. They say You don't exist and did nothing to help our country. They laugh at us for our trust in You, and say we don't need You. We can do anything by our own strength because we are the Almighty. Why do we listen?
Silence them, God, and expose their foolishness for all to see. Let everyone know that You words will be true forever no matter how many will not believe. Those who hide the truth, let them be ashamed and speechless, so they can fully know your love and wisdom. Spare us from the second death, Lord, from separation from you. Punish us so you will not destroy us and we will live. Guide us on Your perfect path. Fill us with pity for the poor, weak, and hungry, and remind us of the naked, wounded, and enslaved. You have not forgotten them, and their cries have not escaped Your ears. How could they?
Stand up, my brothers and sisters! Awake from your sleep and open your mouths. Let the truth be known to all, young and old, wise and foolish. Flee like a deer from the enemy's lies and do not listen to one word. Reach out your hands to the spiritually blind, so they may see as we see and hope as we hope. Then they will stand with us as a levee against a flood, the Lord holding us up.
I will rejoice on the day when the truth is known to all, and the enemy of lies will be silenced and destroyed. Keep my feet on Your rock, Lord, that cannot be moved by water, fire, and wind. The truth will take us to Your arms; lies will drag us down to the enemy's pit. We choose to believe You, our Father and Saviour. We choose to obey you, Alpha and Omega. We choose to listen only to You, King of the universe. There is nothing beyond your reach and nothing that escapes you. Why do we fear anything while You are beside us?
You, O Lord, have put this inside me: a desire for truth and a longing for Your love.
