This poem was written at a time when I was out of town. My husband and I had just had a misunderstanding and I had just prayed about it.
Tears moisten my bed
as I kneel on my knees;
thanking my Saviour
and asking Him, please
to soften my heart
for what may appear,
an indifference to you,
while you're there and I'm here.
My prayer to God now
is a cry in the dark,
to bridle my tongue
before I remark
about anything
that will cause us to fall,
into our old ways,
but help us recall
the times we once had,
with love our main goal;
we need the other half
to make ourselves whole.
A half and a half
are only just that
unless there is love,
we'll stay in combat.
When I return home,
let's remember the days,
when our hearts were one,
in so many ways.
Let's cherish today,
and bury the past;
and maybe, just maybe,
our future will last.
