The winners of January’s blogging contest have been announced – and February’s contest is under way. Look below for details
First, January’s writing/blogging contest, “One Hundred Percent,” was meant to benefit Wellspring International, an arm of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries. This ministry supports ministries who seek to save women and children affected by sex slavery, human trafficking, bride burning, AIDS/HIV, elderly, healthcare, Iraq refugees and other projects.
And the winners:
Platinum and Gold members:
1st Place: When Walls Talk by Paula Titus – won two paid writing assignments from Wellspring International and publication on 100 Christian blogs.
And here’s a note from Paula: “When I sat down to write this piece I must’ve started and stopped twenty times before I realized something. I realized that If I wanted this story to make a powerful impact, I must write from a place of earnestness. The goal should be to make the reader face the horror being done to these women, so much so that they would be compelled to give. I want to thank FaithWriter’s for this awesome opportunity to write for Wellsprings International. I consider it a great honor. I especially want to thank Mike & Bea Edwards for all of their hard work to not only make FaithWriters.com a success, but the writers who belong.”
2nd Place: A Desperate Rescue by Ron Hunnicutt - won one paid writing assignment from Wellspring International.
3rd Place: Twenty-Seven Million by Kathleen A. Trissel – wins a $25 cash prize.
Silver member winner:
Would Anyone Care? by Dwight Hurych – w0n free one-year Gold membership
CONGRATULATIONS! To read the winning entries, check out this post.
And YOU could win the next writing/blogging contest -which is now open! “Equipped to Defend” is a promotion for CrossExamined.org‘s mission of equipping kids to defend their faith. Did you know that 70-75% of Christian youth leave the faith after high school? The goal of this ministry – and the contest – is to equip these kids, and us, to defend their faith when they enter college and/or the work force.
Write a 500-word (or less) piece regarding the solution – equipping kids to defend their faith – from any angle you wish. Deadline is March 1 at 10am ET, or when twenty-five entries are submitted, whichever comes second (in other words, if there aren’t 25 entries by the deadline, the deadline will be extended until there are.). The article must be posted in the appropriate writing/blogging contest forum, in FaithWriters regular articles, and one other place.
First place among Gold and Platinum members will receive a $100 cash prize and publication on 100 Christian blogs. Second place will receive $75, and third $25. The best silver member entry will receive a free gold membership.
Congratulations to the winners. Could YOU be next?
