I’m gonna be honest. I’m still a bit bummed we didn’t have a FaithWriters conference this past summer (but, of course, I’m THRILLED there’s gonna be one next year – in Oregon at the end of June – click the link above for what details we have).
One thing that has tempered that sadness, though, is that a different Christian writing organization is having a conference in my home state of Michigan – and some of the folks I’ve come to expect, and love, from FW conferences will be there!

The Great Lakes Chapter of American Christian Fiction Writers is holding its Tools and Techniques for Writers conference at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson, Michigan on Friday and Saturday, October 26 and 27.
And names you might recognize? FWer, comedian and writer Timmy Boyle (who made us laugh at the last two FW conferences) will be sharing his comedy Friday evening, plus a Saturday session on 5 Keys to sanity, perseverance and keeping your lunch down in the crazy world of writing. And how about Literary Agent Linda Glaz, who has taken pitches at the past two FW conferences, who will be doing the same for this conference?
And besides them? Editors from Revell and Zondervan, and speakers on topics from permissions in fiction and nonfiction to fulfilling your writing dream.
And the cost? Not much. But early-bird pricing ends October 15. Check out the information packet on the GLC website for details.
Of course, it won’t be the FaithWriters conference – but it sure sounds good! Hope you can make it (I’ll be there too, by the way)
Will I see you there?
