Breaking news…
Even though the 2010 FaithWriters conference just ended a month ago, it has been determined that there WILL be another conference in 2011!
It’s going to be more of the same great encouragement, fellowship, inspiration and information–together with some extras to make it even better. The date has not yet been set, but will most likely be the same week in August, so be sure to make a note of it. We’ll let you know as soon as we’ve confirmed the exact dates.
For those of you who were not able to attend this year, no worries! Start making plans now to attend the next one!
Now here’s a question for those of you who have attended any of the three FaithWrters conferences so far. What would you say was the greatest thing you took away? And why should other writers attend?

Oh, be still my HEART. Soooo excited. Fellowship, writing, laughs – MILLIONS of reasons to go.
Best thing I took away from the last conference was a chance to pitch my NF. Best thing the second year was info on the Kindle (which I ended up getting for my partially blind hubby for Christmas – it changed his LIFE). First year the fellowship and motivation to WRITE.
YYYYAAAAAYYYY!!
That’s awesome, Joanne! I am SO looking forward to next year, too.
Hey – I just saw there’s a new Kindle selling for $139. I like the price drop…definitely on my wish list.
YAY!!!!!!!! Great, wonderful, beautiful news!!! I so hope I can make next year’s con. Personally, I came home from the 2009 conference a different person. I felt accepted, loved and valued as a writer and a person. I also learned a lot about plot lines and the importance of characterization. I met some super cool authors and had tons of laughs and heart to hearts. Overall it was INCREDIBLE! Can’t wait till next year.
I am fairly new to FaithWriters. I decided at the last minute to attend the
2010 conference and felt blessed to have had that opportunity.
The fellowship with other writers, regardless of the differences in expertise and success, was a great experience.
The information given in each one of the sessions was like a crash course in
writing.
Much of the information regarding editing, publishing, and agents really opened my eyes to the bigger picture of “writing”. I am such a beginner, but am grateful to have this information at the ready should the Lord lead me into the publishing world.
Jan’s class, “If you have ever written ‘alot’” was so helpful. Her suggestion to use a third character when telling Bible stories led to “From a Gold Ring to a Scarlet Cord” for the Discern challenge. It was a joy to write, and that approach will (for me) open the door to other Bible stories.
The class on character development gave great insight on keeping a notebook
filled with character sketches (including pictures) available and ready for introduction in books and stories.
Nuts and bolts – for writing, persevering, publishing – will undoubtedly lead to success for anyone following God’s call to share through writing.
The instructors were a joy and presented their information in fast-paced, enjoyable forums. Laughter must have been one of the themes for the conference because there was plenty of it.
I look forward to attending next year’s conference, Lord willing. Hopefully, by
then, I will have something in hand for a critique session.
May God bless each one for your diligence in making FaithWriters a successful and powerful tool for those fortunate enough to arrive at your door.
