What’s your Writing Vice?

It’s no secret that going to the movies is one of my favorite things to do. But I find that when I am feeling overwhelmed and the brain clutter is too much to bear, going to the movies does wonders! It relaxes me and takes my mind off all my “stuff”, even if it’s only for two hours. And the popcorn helps, too!

Plus, when I think about it, going to the movies is actually working because watching movies […]

Three writing contests

*Contests are a great way to step out of your comfort zone and test the waters of writing styles you wouldn’t normally wade into.

*Contests provide wonderful opportunities for feedback, and often, judges consist of published authors, editors, and/or agents. Finaling in contests […]

Celebrating Mothers!

In honor of Mother’s Day, if you have a story about mothers, either fictional or non, feel free to post the link here. Maybe it’s a previous FaithWriters Challenge entry or a devotional on your blog. As long as the topic revolves around moms in any way, we want to read it! This weekend it’s all about mothers.

Here’s mine: MARY’S MOTHERHOOD PONDERINGS

Three Famous Moms and Why We Love Them (or not)

So with Mother’s Day on Sunday, let’s think about famous real or fictional moms and why we do or don’t love them. I’ll name three to start. Feel free to list other moms that come to mind.

1. Ann Romano – remember Ann from One Day at a Time? To me, Ann always exemplified a strong, single mother, which affected me because I was one of only a handful of kids in my school who had divorced parents. At […]

Last month for Early Bird Conference Rate

So have you started packing yet? It’s only three months away, so you’d better get cracking. You know what I’m talking about – the FaithWriters conference to take place at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Livonia (Detroit), Michigan, on August 12 & 13.

The message boards are already buzzing with excitement about this year’s conference, which promises to be even better than last year. I know it seems impossible to top last year’s conference, and the “betterness” isn’t because […]
