So have you started packing yet? It’s only three months away, so you’d better get cracking. You know what I’m talking about – the FaithWriters conference to take place at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Livonia (Detroit), Michigan, on August 12 & 13.
The message boards are already buzzing with excitement about this year’s conference, which promises to be even better than last year. I know it seems impossible to top last year’s conference, and the “betterness” isn’t because I’ll be teaching two workshops (although, despite being very nervous about my first-ever public speaking event, I have to say I’m teaching on some pretty good topics). Not only are there some pretty dynamic teachers this year (Deb Porter, David Ian, Timmy Boyle, Jan Ackerson), you’ll actually be able to pitch your manuscript to a literary agent’s assistant, who will be standing in for the agent, himself. Pretty cool, right?
I’ll leave the specifics of the workshops and other conference features for another blog post. Today, I want to remind you that this is the final month to get in on the Early Bird discount. So if you know you’ll be attending, you’d be wise to get that registration form in before the deadline of June 5th. Here’s the breakdown:
EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT (until June 5th) – Platinum 500 Members – $72 per person. All others: $82
REGULAR RATE (From June 6) – Platinum 500 Members -$82 per person. All others – $92
Included in the cost: All workshops and sessions, and Saturday morning breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
Send check or money order, along with completed registration form, to the address listed on the form.
This is a fabulous price for a writers conference! I hope you are able to take advantage of the Early Bird rate. And I REALLY hope to see you in August!

Why are there two groups? One gets a lower rate than the other. Why make people feel that they are less? This is one thing that needs to be addressed. I have 8 friends asking this. Please respond to this ASAP so we can decide to attend.

Hi Ed,
Thanks for your question. I’ve sent you an email but also want to address this here, in case others have the same question.
The lower conference price is for FaithWriters Platinum members – our monthly financial donors. There are many benefits that come with an upgraded membership, including a $10 discount on the annual conference. It’s just one way we like to give back to the members who choose to support our site.
Honestly, even the general price of $92 is a phenomenal price for a two-day conference. I am personally attending a 3-day conference in September that costs $515. For everything the FaithWriters conference offers, $92 is a great deal.
I hope you and your friends choose to attend. I’d love to see you there!
