April is National Poetry Month!
So, in celebration of poetry, your Tackle-It Tuesday assignment on this last Tuesday of the month, is to write a poem about poetry. It can be a Haiku, rhyming, sentimental, or humorous. Keep it under 50 words and make sure the actual topic of your poem is poetry. Clear as mud? Good! Now grab that poetry helmet and tackle it!

I should have been a poet
Of course I should – you know it!
My words must rhyme
All, in good time..
Now watch me go and blow it!
Free verse, rhyme, sonnet
Fill it with Jesus content
Give it love’s pizazz!
A good poem
holds you hostage
on the outside;
drags your screaming carcass
across the scathing canvass,
but you’ll go back for more.
When it touches your heart,
like a warm tongue
to the frozen railing,
you’ll be welded to its metal.
I dare you to pry yourself
away.
Where do people search
For great poetry
Shakespeare had nothing
Over David
A man of war
A keeper of sheep
Conquered Goliath
Fell with Bathsheba
A prophet
A king
A slinger of stones
A swinger of swords
A singer of beautiful
God inspired Psalms
A man after God’s
Own Heart
Beautiful, Ruth. Amen and amen!
Outpouring, emotional
From depths of the soul
rhyming or not, no matter
