You know the saying, April Showers bring May Flowers…
Well, let’s focus on the April Showers part. In 50 words or less, write a story from the perspective of a raindrop. If you’re not used to writing from the viewpoint of an inanimate object, this will be a great challenge for you.
So put on those rain hats and go for the tackle!

Target point 50 feet below; a bright, shiny and black new car!
The owner must really be a fool, getting that color. Does she not know that it makes a perfect goal for the likes of me and my feathered assistants! I am king of the first rains. Bombs Away!
What do you mean ? I’m supposed to water all those fields by myself ? I’m just one raindrop! Did you say “in our weakness He is strong”?.You mean there are lots of us lonely little raindrops ? Then I guess we can do it if He says so. Here we come !
Formed by God’s Hand,
For what purpose am I?
Millions just like me
Fall from the sky.
I feel unneeded,
Redundant at best,
As I journey downwards,
Looking for rest.
I land in the hand
Of one dying of thirst.
My life had a purpose,
Right from the first!
“.”One little Raindrop
I’m just one little raindrop
In a cloud of so many,
Am i significant, you may ask,
No more worth than a penny?
But i am part of a Family
Where each one plays his part,
By myself I can’t do much
yet those April showers WE start.
And just like that penny
They grow from cents into dollars,
Yes, just a single ole’ raindrop
Grows into a great April Shower!
Window Pain
Stretched against
your cold exterior
I have learned to
embrace you;
to see through you
better days ahead,
and to covet
the slide that melds
me until I am lost;
no longer my own.
On my own
no longer.
*misspelling of pain intentional:)
I always get the emails a day late–today I was wise enough to check the site. Thanks for the fun challenge.
I hear birds singing, and even as I fall I see trees blooming. I give my lifeblood freely, so the earth can be refreshed and renewed. My life is short but glorious. Praise the creator for the giving me the opportunity to be a part of His Master plan.
It’s nearly time.
Can’t wait to get out of this stuffy cloud. Way too many rules here, it all feels so heavy.
Time to see the world. Time to juuuuuummmmpppp….
Man, it’s lonely. I feel so out of control, buffeted by the wind.
Think I’ll join that puddle… Splat.
Ahhhhhh.
There she is,
I know it’s her,
Head bent and walking slow.
Downcast is her soul.
Shoulders sag,
Burdens heavy,
Nothing left to feel,
Life doesn’t seem real.
I think she needs me.
But the Master calls others to begin.
She looks up.
Cheeks wet.
Arms spread above
Lavishing His love.
I play my part,
I touch her heart.
And she laughs.
62 words (Yep, I cheated!)
Great work, everyone!
Tele, the timid raindrop, slipped out of the cloud, unnoticed. The others had paused, swiveling to look at a flash of lightening. Having first choice, she quickly decided. She would dive into that burro’s cocked ear? He would announce the drought had broken, tele-graphing the news across the Spanish plain.
50 words on the button.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness…. I hear it as I drop from the heavens complete with sweet relief. Sent by my Master to a loved thirsty soul, I plummet to refresh and fulfill my Ancient of Day’s assignment. Ah, there she is.
Rain rain go away you say?
What about the sun, you never tell it to go away.
Am I not as important as it?
We all have a purpose in life don’t we?
I may be one rain drop, but one drop of rain can make a difference. One drop of rain can give one life another chance. Weather its plant, animal or even human life.
Rain rain go away you say?
I say no.
Swiftly falling, cool air rushing past;
Stretching, thinning,
Ah, at last…
Plop! I land on a face of violet velvet,
Becoming part of this fragrant flower.
(I just got the message in this morning’s mail. Guess I’ll have to learn to check at the site. Thank you for the prompts. M. Sue)
M. Sue, I know what you mean! I get the email for the blogs on the day after. I do see it current on FaceBook.
I got the signal. It’s time for me to let go and do my job. I have been chosen to be the first one to go. Just look at all of those flowers down there. I sure hope I can do it. They look thirsty. Well, here I come flowers!
APRIL SHOWERS
April showers cleanse my soul
Their job is to make me whole
Jesus only is my main goal
I aim to be under His control
Bring mosquitoes!!!
“Aah” it’s so nice just hanging out on this cloud. (RUMBLE RUMBLE) Oh My what is happening. Oh no, I am falling, falling on to the big ball below with all the colors.” Splat. “Why thank you rain” said the little seed, “Now I can grow.” Mtt.17:20 says that if your faith is even as small as a mustard seed you can accomplish anything.
