Time for another round of member shoutouts! Join with me in high-fiving these FaithWriters members for their awesome accomplishments and praise reports!
CAROL PENHORWOOD - Carol recently received news that her poem, “Wings of Faith”, won first place in the Servant House Publications Days of Grace Poetry Contest! Carol was also named “March Poet of the Month” for The Cypress Times. WOO-HOO!!
TIM GEORGE – Tim replied to a very brief and vague post on the Freelance forum almost a year ago at a time when illness nearly had him immobile. A year later, and better physically, his inquiry to that post transformed into twenty small group Bible studies completed for Access Bible Studies, a division of Randall House Publishing. Tim just contracted to do twenty more studies over the next six months. Tim says that this has been a great blessing both spiritually and financially as he wait for the process of finding an agent for his completed novel to reach fulfillment. He wants to remind his FaithWriters friends not to overlook what may at first appear to be a small opportunity. CONGRATULATIONS, TIM!!!
KEVIN BUTLER - Kevin has a two-page article coming out in ParentLife, a Lifeway magazine. This will be Kevin’s first publication and is scheduled to be published in the November issue. YIPPEE!!
GLENN HASCALL - Glenn just contracted with Barbour books for eight stories that will appear in an upcoming humor anthology. The most Glenn ever had published in an anthology has been six, so this is a new benchmark for him. THAT’S AWESOME!!
LAURA MANLEY - Laura recently submitted an idea for a new card line to Blue Mountain Arts Greetings and was pleasantly surprised when they responded very quickly that the idea was one which they did not presently have in place and would take it into consideration. They also gave Laura their guidelines for submitting verses to them based on her idea, which she has done. Laura says this is a big step for her. YOU GO, GIRL!
AMY WILEY – Won 1st place in a poetry contest at Joyful. She took home a nice cash prize. WOOT!
MICHAEL JOSHUA – One of Michael’s previous Challenge entries (Correcting my Oops Moments) was published in the Faith & Religion section of The Dalhart Texan Today, a small Dallas paper. CONGRATS, MICHAEL!
