Man, God’s Greatest Creation
Man is God’s greatest possession and greatest creation. He created man with special care. He gave man dominion over the whole earth.
Man’s greatest possession is his soul, which is his mind, will, and intellect. The greatest enemy to man is the pride of life, lust of the eye, and the lust of self (flesh).
The question has been asked, why man do not hold his dominion? His lack of desire for Christ caused him to seek fulfillment elsewhere and draws him away from God and his will.
What happens when a man is torn down? He turns to other things to make him feel manly.
Man’s will has to be broken. He has to be broken for perfect praise. God is calling him to a higher place of praise. On the road to Heaven, three things will happen in a man’s life to bring him back to right relationship with God.
I. Brokenness
II. Hearing the Voice of and knowing the Voice of God
III. Reaching that higher place of praise
Brokenness means to be broken, break, fragmented or fractured. Interrupted or disconnected. Reduced to submission, ruined or bankrupt, disunited or divided.
Fractured – the breaking of a bone or the resulting condition, the characteristic manner of breaking, break, breach or split.
Interrupted – to break off or cause to cease. To stop a person in the midst of doing or saying something by an interjected remark, interfere with action or speech.
Disconnect – to sever or interrupt the connection of or between. Disjoint or break, separate or put out of order.
Man has a strong-will that has to be broken.
Broken for worship, he needs a personal encounter with God so that he can learn to praise God, thereby being broken for service. The venom of the snake causes us to go through brokenness. Snakes were created in reference to Satan. He steals, kill and destroy. He strikes us and we listen as Eve did and he will eventually get us to sin. Why, because instead of us resisting him as James 4:7 said, resist him and he will flee, we give him a listening ear. He puts his venom in us and we sin and sin kills the spirit of God in us. We disobey, and sometime we go through tings more than once because we do not obtain brokenness from the lesson God is trying to teach us. God through brokenness want us to come to the true spirit of Christ operating in us, within and without. Your cry, your praise is Yes Lord, not why me Lord.
God wants to reach through our brokenness, the hurting people out there in the highways and by ways that we may compel them to come. It is time out for people hiding from the word as Zacheus did when Jesus (the word) was passing by.
Your obedience determines if you remain free or bound. Your Yes Lord determines your obedience. This is when you become someone God can use.
The Voice Of God
Do you know if you have heard the voice of God or not?
How can you tell who is speaking to you?
God is speaking, are you listening. He speaks to the elements. After you ask for a cool breeze, he speaks when the wind blows. When you ask for an increase of your seed in the ground, God speaks when the flowers bloom. When you tell him it’s hot and we need cooler weather, God speaks to the universe and release cooler weather. God speaks when the leaves fall and the beauty of fall arrives. When you ask him for increase to your crops and plants, he waters the earth to yield the increase. God speaks when the thunder roar and the lightning flash that he is in control. When you ask for a sober word of deliverance, God speaks when his Ministers delivers the word. Finally God speaks through his Angels, Babes, and the Holy Ghost. He speaks through his word. He speaks in a calm small whisper in your ear. It sounds like a roaring in your ear. He always addresses you by name, your first name. He is never condemning but it is always in love. God spoke to the prophets of old. Then after Jesus came and redeemed us back, we no longer needed the prophet to speak to us but God speaks to us through his Holy Spirit.
David said in Psalms 85:8, he would hear what God would speak, for he will speak peace unto his people and to his saints. But do you hear him when he lifts his voice. What do you do, do you aging turn unto folly or foolishness.
In Job 11:5, Job wanted God to speak. He felt forsaken, ashamed, and Job was trying to answer his friends accusations against him, but he didn’t lean to his own understanding, but wanted God to speak. We seek for the Voice of God in our dilemmas.
The voice of the Lord is harsh sometime. His voice is judgmental sometime, as he speaks judgment on your sin. God’s voice is heard in the beginning as he gave the commands, let us, and Jesus and the Holy Ghost carried out his orders. He is the voice of one crying out in the wilderness calling for repentance from his people. The voice of God is always calling us to the Gospel, God of salvation, peace and eternal life. The gospel backward tells us to let each person seek out God. Christ is the gospel. He is the word, and the word became flesh and dwelt among us. Christ in you is the gospel preached.
If you are in the wrong place, the wrong posture, the wrong position, then you will not hear the voice of God. You are in the school of hard knots. Only when you can hear the voice of God that you can come into the presence of God in spirit and in truth bringing you to a higher place of praise in him.
There is a higher place of praise and your praise brings about change in your circumstances.
Associated with praise is:
Trials – tryout, test, affliction, hardship, adversity, suffering, misery, distress, misfortune, ordeal, bother, annoyance, hassle
Tribulations – Great affliction
Longsuffering – undergo, experience or be subjected to pain, grief, agonizing, defeat or changes, anguish, distress, misery, or sorrow for a lengthy duration of time.
Through all that is invested in you, praise is your joy. We go through periods of trials, tribulations, and longsuffering to bring us to that state of praise in God that will bring us before the throne if we faint not and return to the world.
Turning back denotes and unwillingness to suffer. Jesus did not turn back, but he went to the cross and paid the ultimate price for us to return to right relationship with the father. The power is within us to be conquerors. To become a conqueror there are things that we must do.
The first thing that you are to do is to crucify the I in you. You have to consecrate your soul and your spirit within you to God. But first the body must die a fleshly death. Praise (true heavenly praise) will not come in completely without an anointed saved glorious body.
You must be:
1. Anointed – consecrated, made or declared saved, devoted to a purpose, ordained to a sacred office
2. Saved – to be delivered from sin, preserved from damnation, adoring praise and thanksgiving. Death to the flesh, destroyed flesh
3. Glorious – Delightful and wonderful, possessing glory, illustrious, honorable, splendid, magnificent, outstanding
Find out where your passion lies. Is your passion with God or with the world. You can’t serve with the things of the world and have true passionate praise with God. When in your quiet time, you don’t seek him, when you come in the house of God, you don’t leave all other things out. A crowded mind won’t praise God. A weighed down heart won’t praise God. Therefore when you depart to serve you can’t because you don’t have a true passion for souls. Your soul is all crossed up. You can’t find joy in your soul, so how can you share something that you yourself know nothing about.
1. You must know that God is praise worthy
Exodus 15:11, who is like unto thee; O Lord, among the gods? Who is like unto thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders. God is the focus here, and God is the deliverer. God was their way out of Egypt.
2. God wants praise from the heart
I Kings 8:23, and Solomon said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above or on earth beneath, who keepeth covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart. Solomon prayed before God in front of the people that they too would praise God. He stressed God’s faithfulness and their need of God also to be among them.
