They ask me
Why do you believe?
I reply, why don’t you?
Have you not seen enough?
Enough hate, hunger, and chaos
Enough misdirection, confusion, and uncertainty
They ask me
Why do you follow a God you can’t see?
And I ask them?
How have your gods of the visible worked out for you?
Have you found peace in your governments?
Your possessions
Or your deeds
They ask me
How I know for sure?
And I tell them He is the one sure thing
Governments, armies, and civilizations rise and crumble
The Word and the Giver of the Word remain constant
Solid
Complete
Boundless
They ask me
Show us some proof
A sign
A miracle
A transformation
And I ask them why they seek proof?
Proof of something they don’t believe
They ask me
Why He cares for them
And I ask them
How could He be capable of any less?
Through doubt and careless excuses
The glimpses of His glory shine through
Shine through, just enough
That they’re always asking me
Asking me about Him

I think that God shines in you a little more than 'just enough', but I am so glad that they keep asking.
I also enjoy the shape of your verses. Interesting!
Nice message, well written. Elizabeth.
