A child arrives with his
Bible in hand; he looks at the
Cross on the steeple. He opens the
Door and steps inside and sees the
Embracing people; “Oh, people of
Faith in
God up above, do you have a
Home for me?
I want to feel loved for
Just awhile. I don’t take up much room, you see.”
Kneeling down, a man in a gown
Leans in and extends his hand; the
Minister walks to the front of the church
Now everyone watches them stand.
“Our Saviour and Lord never ignored
People who sought His love
Quiet your hearts and look at this child
Receive him, a gift from above.”
Sitting up front, a couple alone
Thought here is a mission for us
Unto us now a child is born
Very quickly, they welcomed him thus.
What welcome we give to Christ in our midst; an
eXcellent welcome indeed
Yes, welcome the children, gather them in; the
Zenith of love, met a need.
Jesus took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,"Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me." (Mark 9:36-37 NIV)

Wow Karen! I can't believe you followed the rules PLUS made it rhyme (and your flow and meter are so good!) What a great story. I love the "least of these" feel to this. I was watching to see what you did with "X" (based on your previous comment). :)
