While recently sidelined with back problems, I made up a game for the grandchildren. I call it the “Good News Alphabet.” I’m hoping it will encourage even more Bible verse memorization. You might like to use it in place of counting sheep as you drift off to slumber land.
See what verses you can recall as you go through the alphabet. (We might have to cheat a bit for the letters Q, X, and Z):
The “Good News Alphabet”
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17
