I want to meet Malchus, whose ear Peter cut off. Jesus said, “He who hath an ear to hear….” Malchus’ ear was touched by our Savior. I want to know what he heard after that. Oh, that my ears may be touched by the Master.
I want to meet the man whose vision Jesus healed TWICE. After the first he saw “trees as men walking”. His eyes were restored, and then Jesus healed the occipital lobe of the brain, which translates what the eye sees. How many today have “eyes to see” but no vision?
I want to meet the paralytic man whose friends lowered him through the roof. Jesus knew his greatest need and cleansed him from his sins. I’m sure he felt freer then than anytime in his life. He became a walking miracle of Jesus’ ability to forgive sins.
I want to meet the dying thief who placed his hope and trust in Someone who was beaten, bruised and bleeding, weak, thirsty, naked, scorned and ridiculed, nailed to a cross and dying beside him and said, “Remember me when You enter into Your kingdom.” Now THAT is faith!
When I get to Heaven the One I want to meet most is the God Who made all this and more possible…..THEN I will not be limited to earthly words to describe and worship Him. Praise His Holy Name! It will take all of eternity to do so.
Now, wouldn't this make a great book, expanded! Gather a group of friends to share who they want to meet "When I get to Heaven." Wonderful concept, and I love your choices. Mine would be those special Bible story children, like the little slave girl who made such a difference in Naaman's life, that we only get a glimpse of in Scripture.
Thank you for leaving a comment on my "Proposals" story. I'm delighted you like the idea for your church Valentine special. I hope you have a tremendous time!
