“Finally, build up your strength in union with the Lord and by means of His mighty power. Put on all the armor that God gives you, so that you will be able to stand up against the devil’s evil tricks.” (Ephesians 6:10 & 11.)
“So stand ready, with truth as a belt tight around your waist, with righteousness as your breastplate, and as your shoes the readiness to announce the Good News of peace. At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the evil one. And accept salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you.” (Ephesians 6:14-17.)
Perhaps we do not have to go into battle everyday but, we do go often. Trials and tribulations catch us off guard and cause us to stumble and/or the behavior of others might cause us to stumble. It is times like these that leave us vulnerable to “the devil’s evil tricks”. Perhaps we find ourselves even trying to bargain with God. “Oh Father if only you do this for me I will do anything for you.” I cannot help but wonder if some people become so desperate they turn to satan for false assistance. What happens to them then?
They miss out on the beautiful purpose our Father had in store for them. Not to mention they are now in a pickle with the very essence of wickedness.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God…to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28.)
“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you…plans to give you a hope and a future!” (Jeremiah 29:11.)
I am so sad to say I have such little faith that I constantly doubt my Father. I am always quick to question Him and try to do things my way. Why have I not learned that my Father loves me so much He sent His only begotten son to die for my salvation? Should that not tell me everything? I would NEVER sacrifice my son for anyone or anything!!!
“Why are you downcast o my soul and why are you in turmoil within me? Put your hope in God for I will yet praise Him my Saviour and my God!” (Psalms 42:5.)
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20.)
I would like to encourage you to print out the scripture within this message as these passages will give you great peace when you are faced with suffering. Our Father does have a grand reason behind everything whether we understand it and agree with it or not.
Romans 8:31 which states, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” is great but the one that has brought about the most calm within me is, “Be still and know that I am God”. (Psalm 46:10.)
Keep a gentle spirit, my friend, and do not lose heart. Our Father loves you more than you or I could ever comprehend. His wisdom is great and his blessings plentiful. Do not allow the cold darkness of shadow to dishearten you but rather lift your face to the warmth of the sun. Keep your eyes focused on God. He will ALWAYS see you through!!!
“Be joyful always, pray at all times, be thankful in all circumstances.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.)
