This isn't my dream house.
I've always prided myself on being able to adapt to my Girl's whims, but this is too much to ask of me. After all, I’m a glamour girl. With all of my fancy clothes, it should be obvious that I’m destined for better things.
Oh, it's nice enough. I’m sitting on a bed of pine needles, and their spicy scent surrounds me. I'm seated against a strong tree trunk, and I think back to how I got here.
This morning my Girl dressed me in the blue gown, and we danced around the tent. I was glad my Girl had brought me on this camping trip, but I didn’t like this place. Inside the tent were long, ominous shadows. After our dance, she brought me out in back of the tent. I watched as she fashioned a miniature village: a cabin from stacked twigs, a lake from some aluminum foil, and pebbles for a path to the lake. She tore some small branches, and stuck them in the ground. If you were my size, this little village would be just right for you.
A little while ago, the Girl told me she was going swimming, and I’ve been here since then. It’s just not my sort of place. After all, I have a destiny. I’m a Ballroom Barbie, and I don’t see any ballroom in these woods.
The silence is ominous. There’s a chill in the air. I don’t know why the Girl didn’t put on my stole, and my shoulders are covered with gooseflesh. And it’s not just the cold. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see one of the Boy’s toys. He was flung carelessly on the nearby ground by the Boy. He’s dressed in an outfit of khaki and brown. He looks at me with a menacing stare. I know his intentions can’t be good.
I wish my Girl would come back from swimming. Anything is preferable to this primitive abandonment. I’m meant to swirl to her childish melodies. I certainly wasn’t meant to be secluded here with the steely eyes of this GI Joe.
To make matters worse, the Boy came out of the tent. He sneered at the Girl’s little village, but he also saw GI Joe. He picked him up and pushed open his Kung Fu grip. This seemed to satisfy Boy, because he flung him down again – right by my side, and ran off in the direction of the swimming pool.
So now he’s next to me. This does not bode well for my fate. His eyes speak his purpose, and it is not honorable. Now that he’s able to approach me, and his hand can grasp me, I fear that my dancing days will soon be at an end. Farewell, my girl! I can see that he’s gaining on me! If only I’d stayed in my dream house, this never would have happened.

Story # 2
This isn't my dream house.
I've always enjoyed being able to adapt to my Girl's whims, and this is no exception. After all, I may have started out as a glamour girl, but I’m willing to try new things. Despite my fancy clothes, I think it is wonderful to be in such a different setting.
It's so nice here. I’m sitting on a bed of pine needles, and their spicy scent surrounds me. I'm seated against a strong tree trunk, and I think back to how I got here.
This morning my Girl dressed me in the blue fluffy gown, and began dancing me around the tent. I was glad my Girl had brought me on this camping trip. This place fascinates me. Inside the tent were cool, restful shadows.
A little while ago, the Girl told me that she was going swimming, and I’ve been here since then. This is not what I’m used to, and I’m enjoying this adventure. I may be a Ballroom Barbie, but I don’t see any ballroom in these woods.
The serenity here is soothing. There’s a cooling breeze on my shoulders, and I’m glad that the Girl didn’t put on my stole. And it’s not just the view that is enjoyable. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see one of the Boy’s toys. He was flung carelessly on the nearby ground by the Boy. He’s dressed in an outfit of khaki and brown. He looks at me with an enticing smile. If only he could approach me, I’m sure we could share a pleasant interlude.
Before I saw him, I wished my Girl would come back from swimming. But now I prefer my little village. I’ve only known how to swirl to her childish melodies. I never dreamed how wonderful it might be to be secluded here with the soulful eyes of this GI Joe.
To help things along, the Boy came out of the tent. He sneered at the Girl’s little village, but he also saw GI Joe. He picked him up and pushed open his Kung Fu grip. This seemed to satisfy Boy, because he threw him down again – right by my side, and ran off in the direction of the swimming pool.
So now he’s next to me. This is such a wonderful turn of events! His eyes speak to my heart, and I can tell that he has much to share with me. Now that he’s able to approach me, I think that my dancing days will pale in comparison. Take your time, my Girl! I can see that he’s reaching his hand out to me! And to think this never would have happened, if I’d stayed in my dream house.
