Worship
The time is roughly 9:45 a.m. during a Sunday Eucharist service which begun at 8 a.m. to accommodate several aspects of the ministry of the church including infant Baptism. The service began with the usual procession of the choir, acolytes and priests. Following the reading of the Gospel of the day Mark 2:1-12, the praise and worship ministry began. During the worship choruses [O Lamb of God and Glory, glory, glory to the Lamb] I felt myself transported from time to… It seemed that I actual stood in the presence of HIS Majesty. If you have read my other articles on Sacred Space and/or Sacred Times, you will have an idea of what I speak. During this sacred moment, tears flowed and praying in the spirit [or praying in tongues] began. The “moment” seemed endless as revelation and clarity concerning certain aspects of my life became clear. I thought it was over when in a still quiet voice I heard HIS Majesty whisper “the curse is broken”.
However, following the sermon preached by the young curate on the gospel reading which, speaks of Jesus healing the man who could not walk and, the singing of the hymn “Love lifted me”, the "sacred moment" returned with a rush of tears of joy as I recounted how it was the love of HIS Majesty that turned my life around enabling and empowering me for HIS service.
I share this journey with all of you who will read this so that you too can recognise when you have been at HIS feet in the “Holy of Holies”. What triggered it I cannot with any honesty say other than the LORD HIMSELF required me to step outside myself and be in HIS presence.
I pray that if you have not had such an encounter that you will, be blessed and renewed in your spirit.
