My Chute Always Opens

He flies through the air with the wind in his face,
Stretched out like an eagle, he drops with such grace.
His landings are great, but just once in a while,
The chute’s slow to open, he lands in a pile.
Adrenaline rushes miles up in the skies,
And people do wonder the reason he dives.
“Why do you jump from a perfect good plane?
Why take the chance?” He begins to explain.
“To be in the heavens I see God’s good earth,
Trees, grass, and sky, all that has worth.
To fly like the eagle that God made to soar,
I witness God’s beauty, I learn of Him more.
For just as it says in Romans One Twenty,
Man has no excuse being blind to God’s plenty.
So soar high, I must, my God protects me,
As I sail through the air and His glory I see.
Forever I’ll give Him thanksgiving and praise,
That my chutes always open and beside me He stays.”
