Lord God,

It feels like a while since I last spoke to you,

And it seems that with each passing day I have grown more distant from you,

I confess that the cares and riches of this world have completely consumed me,

And I no longer desire to serve you as I once did,

But I thank you Lord that you remain faithful,

That even when my heart turned away from you to other things,

You never gave up pursuing me,

So Lord, please forgive me for the times when I have forsaken you, my first love,

Restore my joy in you and the hope of my salvation,

Remind me of the truth that Jesus is the true bread of life,

And that true fulfilment and satisfaction can only be found in him alone,

Help me to fix my eyes anew on Jesus,

And lead me back toward the right path,

Please renew me by your Spirit and heal me from my weariness,

Cleanse my heart from selfishness and idolatry,

And restore my desire to want to serve you,

I pray that you would ignite my hunger for your Word,

And grow my love for your church,

Help me not to give up meeting with my brothers and sisters in Christ,

And strengthen me for every good work,

As I continue to grow and live out,

Who you have made me to be in Christ.
