NEVER STOP GROWING!
Our new birth in Christ is the greatest privilege as CHILDREN OF GOD. Cuddled and pampered by the Holy Spirit, while we stumble and fall often making many mistakes as spiritual toddlers, we cry and hunger for the MILK of the Word of God to grow out of our infancy and childishness.
1Peter 2:2,3.
Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
Putting behind us this stage of spiritual immaturity, we grow further, becoming SONS OF GOD, who are disciplined, accountable and led by the Holy Spirit. Now fairly mature and advanced in our knowledge and practice of the MEAT of the Word of God, knowing right from wrong.
Hebrews 5:11-14.
There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen. You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.
Effective leadership is selfless service! We MUST desire to become SERVANTS OR MINISTERS OF GOD. Being God's qualified employees, ambassadors and ordained representatives who have kept themselves pure, spiritually trained and fit for the Master's special, regular use.
2 Timothy 2:20,21.
In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.
Read also 1 Timothy 3:1-13; 2 Timothy 2:15-26.
Finally, the SLAVES OF GOD AND JESUS CHRIST. These have lost their rights, they ask for no rewards and are ready to go wherever, say or do whatever, to whoever as our MASTER JESUS demands, even unto death!
1 Corinthians 9:16-19.
Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News!
If I were doing this on my own initiative, I would deserve payment. But I have no choice, for God has given me this sacred trust. What then is my pay? It is the opportunity to preach the Good News without charging anyone. That’s why I never demand my rights when I preach the Good News.
Even though I am a free man with no master, I have become a slave to all people to bring many to Christ.
NOW, ITS TIME TO ASPIRE HIGHER. Hallelujah!
