Being a Christian and also using social media can be challenging, as it’s not always easy to get the best results and actively find the right system to suit your needs. More often than not the best way to be a good Christian on social media is to not post that much, if at all and just engage in content created by others. But you can still get some nice results if you have a smarter approach towards using social media, as you see below.
Understand that there are privacy concerns
The main problem with social media is that you don’t really have a lot of privacy once you start using such a platform. And that means it can be tricky for any Christian. The idea here is that you want to make sure you’re not sharing any information that’s way too personal. Keep it general and don’t go in-depth with the info just to be safe.
Avoid arguments on social media
Keep in mind that social media is a public space. When you post something, people see it. And that obviously means that you need to pay attention to everything you write. Take your time and think twice or even more times to avoid issues, as it will be worth it in the end.
Stop being motivated by likes and shares
Those matter only if you are a business as they will make it easy for you to share content and they are metrics to measure engagement rates. But for a regular Christian likes and shares are just a way to feed the ego, they don’t provide any meaningful value and that’s definitely the type of thing you want to think about. It won’t help you with anything if you have thousands of likes on a post.
Keep it under control
Social media brings addiction as you constantly want to visit it to see the latest posts. That ends up making you lose a lot of time as you check out all those new posts. It sounds great at first only when you realize that you don’t really need to see those posts and it just wastes your time. Just remember, the more you think about optimizing your social media use, the better it will be in the end. Stick to a certain social media schedule, either late during the day for 20 minutes or so or when you are commuting. Don’t let it control you, if anything you have to be in control.
Social media can be great for interacting with people, but it can also be a dangerous place too. And you can try to improve your social presence on Instagram with a service like instagrowing.net. Sure, social media can eat up a lot of your time and that’s why you really need to focus on keeping it under control especially at work. Ideally you should use social media during dead times like commuting when there’s nothing to do anyway. Avoid wasting precious time just to spend it on social media. This will help you maintain great relationships and retain the status of a good Christian as well!
