(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. - Romans 4:17 (KJV)
I am in a creative mode. I have been for months.
I started painting plates. When I did, I broke through the writer's block I experienced for years concerning my novels.
I also noticed something miraculous happened when I created. I started to heal emotionally and mentally from past wounds.
Did you know that we create every day? We create our world with the words we speak (Hebrews 11:3).
What are you speaking? Are you speaking positive words? Are you speaking God's Word over your life?
Maybe you are not paying attention to the words falling out of your mouth. Perhaps you have been saying some not-so-good things about yourself and your circumstances.
Whatever you continue to say will happen in your life.
Think about what you have been saying. Would you want those things to manifest?
It is never too late to start again.
Just for today, I urge you to do the following things:
- Ask God To Help - Many times we go it alone when we have an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Ask Him to help you speak more positively, to speak His Promises instead of your circumstances.
- Be Grateful - When something goes wrong today, list five things out loud about the situation for which you can be grateful. Then list ten blessings in your life before you go to sleep.
- Make Your Words Positive - Frame everything you say today in a positive light. When you catch yourself saying something negative--and you will--reframe it as positive. Better yet speak what God's Word says about that situation.
- Speak Life - Speak God's Word over your life every day...and the lives of others. What does God's Word say about you? You are forgiven (Colossians 3:13). You are righteous through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). You are favored (Psalm 5:12). Speak those things over your life consistently, and watch it change.
Then do these items the next day and the next until they become a habit. Take it one day, one hour, one minute, at a time.
We need to focus on who we want to be and not who we are. Where we focus our attention and what we speak will happen in our lives (Mark 11:23-24).
What are you creating with your words today?
