"The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. (Psalm 14:1-3)
In all my many years of following the political arena, I have never seen so much evil directed towards our Founding Fathers' principles for America, principles based on God's Word.
One such evil, gaining a tremendous amount of negative press these days, seems to be the buzz phrases of today's society, words such as dossier, fake news, dark web, deep state etc. In other words, evil has gotten its creepy claws into such news documentation as files, recordings, reports, profiles, and databases, originally directed towards the good of the populace.
One of the more potentially dangerous words or phrases making the internet rounds of late is the word 'Leak.' What does this new found political phrase mean? And how does it play out in today's American public square?
Leak: The spread of secret, often unfavorable, news about a politician to the media by someone in his or her inner circle. Some leaks by politicians are intentional, also called a trial balloon, so that they can judge the reaction to a proposed policy change before publicly committing to the new position.
So is this phrase, with all its conjunctive intentions, meant for the good or evil of America? The answer is obvious. The very definition fits right along with the Scripture and the mindset of the evil god of this world, as opposed to our Christian heritage.
We should now examine this evil trend. The development of evil comes directly from Satan himself, down through his minions. You see, the believers' enemies are the demonic hosts of Satan, always assembled for mortal combat. (Ephesians 6:12)
And this evil combat is a direct attack on all forms of America's culture and is no respecter of persons. Starting from human birth, it extends through the family, into public education, and into all functions of the public arena such as the government and even our churches. No one is excluded from this particular form of ungodly psychology. No one is immune to "Leaks."
I realize we are seeing an uptick of cynicism among believers and nonbelievers alike when it comes to politics. However, one thing is sure. It amazes me how God is able to work with our uncertainties by turning them into something positive (Isaiah 42:16). As we all have certain rough edges that need smoothing, so do our political aspirations (Psalm 51:6).
Yes, He said it and he will do it. His promises are backed up by His living Word. (I Thess. 5:24) (II Thess. 3:3)
How then may we fight this evil, and turn this ungodly mindset into good? We must turn to prayer and supplication. We know that our all-powerful, all-knowing Creator is in control of this great universe. So nothing, not even America's cultural environment, be it corrupt or legitimate, takes our God by surprise.
I realize this current cultural mindset tends to foster any number of emotions, such as anger, frustration, despair and anxiety. Our position, however, is to not get discouraged. Simply go to God's Word.
The book of Psalms speaks volumes for us Christians. Please read Psalm 35, to settle your emotions. Psalm 46 describes times of great misfortunes and mishaps. Read Psalm 79 if you are frustrated by injustice. And most importantly, read Psalms 19 and 105 in rejoicing over the incredible power of our almighty God as it is revealed in His marvelous creation.
In (II Timothy 3:16-17) we see the spiritual guidelines for America's faith and practice. Then in (Romans 13:1-7) the apostle Paul outlines the guidelines for our lives according to God's principles respecting government.
In (Romans 13:1) we see that the authorities are established by God Himself. In (Romans 13:2 ) the authority is also instituted by God. In (Romans 13: 4, 6) we see this authority in God's servants. In (Romans 13:1, 5) we must submit to the authorities. In (Romans 13: 6:) we see that we are required to pay taxes. And in (Romans 13:7) we see that we should give the authorities the proper respect.
Conversely, the Lord Himself tells us in the Twenty-second chapter of Matthew's gospel that the state does have certain claims over us. However, He also says that God's authority and claim over us must always take top priority.
Yes, the authorities have certain obligations, but so do we as citizens. And we should all pray that the buzz words of apathy and ignorance never be excuses for our rebellion towards God's principles.
Conversely, we should never be swept along by the news media's fabrication of the many godless Twenty-first Century buzz words, especially the infamous word "leak."
Now, rather than becoming frustrated, just take time out from your busy schedule to think and reflect on our country's spiritual needs. Let me just leave you with one request. Please continue to pray for our nation and its leaders of all political parties.
"What a comfort this is in our conflicts with our unruly hearts that it shall not always be thus! Let us strive a little while, and we shall be happy forever ... Satan will object, "You are a great sinner. " We may answer, "Christ is a strong Savior." (Richard Sibbes)

If you were to find a leak in your home plumbing, how would you fix it? Why, you would plug it, of course. Do you see how all this current society's political evil may just be turning around for our good. May be getting plugged up. "
”As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive." (Genesis 50:20)
Just take a good hard look at America's last general election. Regardless of how it may look right now, our God is not far from us. He may just be giving us an opportunity to trust Him and wait for His help rather than rely on our own resources. He may be putting us to the test.
In (Psalm 13:1-6) David seemed to be put to the test. Yet, in it all, he knew his only hope was in God. So he remained faithful.
I also believe that God has given America a last chance to turn around for Him. (2 Chronicles 7:14) What are we going to go with this last chance? You see, the Lord never leaves you. He sustains all who put their trust in Him.
