White Robes Washed in Red Blood! How can it be? White robes washed in "Red Blood" will look red in color!, Is it not? But the Bible says, "They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." (Revelation 7:13 NIV) Yes, it is a celebration of thousands and thousands of saints who lived on this earth years ago and who enjoy the heavenly bliss - praising God all the time!
All Saints Day
The first day of November is observed as the All Saints Day in most of the countries throughout the Christian world. This day commemorates all the saints, not only canonized or beatified by the Church but also those known only to God who are in heaven enjoying the beatific vision.
Of course, there are millions of saints who do not come under the list of saints, recognized by the Church. But they enjoy the heavenly bliss since they lived faithful to the "Will of God".
White Robed saints -who washed their robes in the "Red Blood" of the Lamb Jesus
The Bible describes in the Revelations how "there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb." (Rev.7:9 NIV) The chapter describes those people who "were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands." (Rev. 7:9 NIV)
These faithful men and women washed their robes of their day-to-day lives in the "blood of the Lamb". They persevered in faith and loved God more than anything. They were ready to lay down their lives for the love of God.
Why do we celebrate them?
The feast of All Saints Day is a call for everyone - still living on this earth - to be faithful to the love of God. It reminds us that by following in the footsteps of Jesus and conforming ourselves to the image of God, always seeking the will of the Father in everything. By living in such a way, we can devote ourselves with all our being to the great glory of God and also be serviceable to our neighbors. In this way, we can follow the path of holiness that is shown by the saints who "are in their white robes", worshipping God and singing, "Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen!" (Rev. 7:12 NIV)
Let us wash our robes in the Red Blood of the Lamb - Jesus
This feast is a call for us to get ready for the "Wedding Feast" of the "Divine son" who is eagerly waiting to see us all in heaven. All our sufferings and anxieties should lead us to this great feast of heaven. We shall all, meet is heaven - without fail!
