BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE
Freelance writer Lupie Riley
Thought: How do we respond to a gesture of encouragement? It could be a hand on the arm or shoulder, a hug or touch from someone you love or admire. These are all gestures of "I care about you." You might hear words of praise, like "good job" or "I'm proud of you"and "keep up the good work". These are words to the receivers that will help them to continue on their quest for the good things life can bring.
All we hear from the media, newspapers, radio or overheard conversations is a dark, bleak, picture of our world today. This causes us to be anxious and fearfull, however, no matter what life throws at us we need to be strong and of good courage. We find these words of encouragement often in the Word of God. He wants us to be strong even through turbulent times with the hope that He will never leave us. We are to be encouragers to others so they may also remain strong and courageous. Finding something to be thankful for everyday will also help keep our minds positive and hopefull that things will get better. We have a bright future ahead of us as born again children of God.
Looking forward to King Jesus rein should be enough to keep a smile on our face and in turn warming up someone elses life in the process. Jesus tells us not to worry if we put our trust in Him. The bible calls this living the abundant life here on earth until we arrive in our heavenly home that He has prepared for us. He's coming soon, are you ready? Maranatha
Prayer: Father God, thank you so much for the enouragement and strength you give us each day that all the chaos and turmoil in our world will be behind us soon and we will live with you forever. What a bright future we can look forward to. Amen
Verse: Phill. 2:1,2 (Paul's letter to the Phillipians) " Is there any such thing as Christians cheering each other up? Do you love me enough to want to help me? Does it mean anything to you that we are brothers (and sisters) in the Lord, sharing the same spirit? are your hearts sympathetic at all? Then make me truly happy by loving each other and agreeing wholheartedly with each other, working together with one heart and mind and purpose."
Joshua 1:9 "Yes, be bold and strong! Banish fear and doubt! For remember, the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

This article reminds me of John Bunyan's The Pilgrim's Progress, where, although there are difficulties, doubts, and temporary falling away, the Christian is on the path along the King's Highway, the right path. This should bring us good cheer.
