There's something happening here. What it is, is abundantly clear. There are some kids saying prayers over there. Telling me... -parody of Buffalo Springfield's For What it's Worth
A grass roots movement, See You At The Pole (SYATP) started in 1990 with ten students praying at their school. Now millions of students worldwide meet at the pole before school to pray.
The youth leader at my church first took her students to the pole at a public schol five years ago. On Wednesday, September 27th she met these students and others at the pole for the annual event, which globally is held the fourth September of the month.
During the day, the youth leader said on her Facebook page, the students who prayed at the pole confidently answer people who ask "what were you doing outside by the flag pole?"
Students who go to SYATP end up going to church and youth groups. Lives have been changed, people have grown in their relationship with Christ, and teachers, principals and school staff like what SYATP is doing at their school, the youth leader wrote.
When I was in elementary school, with Fred Flintstone in the Yabba Dabba Doo school district, the teachers read the Bible and prayed. Now, people are doing this on their own.
This countryneeds a revival. To put a spin on another 60s song:
"Better get down to it; drugs are shooting us down..."
We are losing the war on drugs. I am convinced that only through the love of Jesus can people overcome their besetting sin of drug addiction. Biblical based programs such as Celebrate Recovery have been very successful in helping people overcometheir bad habits, hurts, and hang-ups.
The first step in the 12 Steps program Celebrate Recovery uses and a Biblical comparison:
1. We admitted we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviors, that our lives had become unmanageable. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.
For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. Romans 7:18 NIV
Jesus not only healed physical ailments, but cures our spiritual ills, restoring us to the way God made us and making us right with Him. He is the truth, theway and the light. We will only find peace through Christ.
There is hope for America, to stop the insanity of drug and alcohol addiction, hatred, envy, greed and other evils.
"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2nd Chronicles 7:14

I must really be behind the times, as your article is the initial awareness I have of SYATP.
One thing which I don't understand is that we, as a nation, have "IN GOD WE TRUST" on our paper money, yet, we as a nation don't seem to really practice this. Until we return to God as a nation, I don't believe we can ever be the nation we once were.
I pray we do return to God as a nation before it is too late.
There are some good, Godly, things that our nation does, yet, there is no much evil, hate and deceit prevalent. I get disgusted just hearing about all that is on the news. I rarely watch the news. Who knows how much it you can believe anyway?
Keep up your writing for the Lord.
