What is Truth?
By Robert Schaetzle
“When he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.” John 18:38b NKJV
This question Pilate asked our Lord, didn’t realize or recognize he answered his own question. Standing before Jesus, truth was staring him in the face, as the saying goes. Desiring to know what no one had been able to tell him. Had God blinded the understanding of Pilate, or was the ‘Power of Darkness’ having his say?
Pilate pronounced Jesus; “Not Guilty” when he resolved himself to have nothing to do with judging our Lord. Such a great reminder for us to take hold of God’s word and find strength against those disguises of wrong and unrighteous imitations from the power of darkness.
Satan works his finest hour to blind even our own heart every chance he gets; from recognizing God’s Spiritual prompting to discern what God wants from us. To be reflecting His Truth through us.
To reinforce the measure of their inheritance as Abraham’s seed, when Jesus was speaking to the Jews who believed in Him he said; “If you abide in my word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8: 31b, 32
Temptation was a stumbling block before Pilate. Truth, stands daily, knocking at the door of our heart, to be made make known in us. It’s God’s invitation toward exercising the faith He assigns, reflecting His passion for others to find this way of Truth. A Truth that becomes everlasting life!
