Adam, first man created by God, became the ancestor of all people. God breathed into his body of “dust” the divine breath of life. Made in the exact image of God with spiritual, rational, and moral qualities. Now, believers are God’s representatives in this world. We live as earthen vessels that demonstrate God’s brilliant power and not our own “our bodies are made of clay, yet we have the treasure of Good News in them. This cherished prize comes from God and not us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed, perplexed but not in despair, persecuted but not forsaken, struck down, but not destroyed” (2Cor 4:7-9)
The Cure For Everyone
Apostle Paul radically changed after seeing the risen Christ. With all fortitude he began spreading the gospel. Under Nero’s order, Paul was beheaded. Yet, he died knowing the grace that proved sufficient to save a sinner like him, would be the cure for everyone. Without any doubts, Paul knew the Lord’s grace had complete sufficiency for his every need. Further, he recognized that all men of God are complete in Him, equipped for every good work “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2Tim 4:6-7)
Stronger Than Death
An unshakable love, stronger than death, and more multifaceted than diamonds, bids us ‘be still and know’ (Psa 46:10). Since He mothers each tiny bird, Fathers His sheep, and sticks closer than a brother---He watches over you and I (Prov 18:24). Our strength is to rest quietly, relaxing in His all-powerful plan (Isa 30:7). Therefore, stillness in His guardianship leads to knowing Him. In addition, it immensely pleases the heart of God when we fling every burden upon His mercy. He will never let the righteous be shaken or forsaken, and only His power can protect us in the fullest sense “For He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you” (Heb 13:5)
City Of Our God
One day we’ll see what ‘John the revelator’ saw---a pure, sparkling river flowing from His throne whose streams make glad the City of our God. Singing and dancing (maybe flying?) in the sweet forever of glory that fades not away, we will remain while the ages roll (Psa 46:4, Rev 22:1). In the Apostle John’s writings we notice a man who enjoyed delightful fellowship with Jesus. He experienced light, love, and life. His messages (Gospel of John, John I, II, III, Revelation) urge spiritual children to enjoy that same companionship with our Lord.
