I'm a big girl now but still a little girl inside.
I like happy surprises, the kind where someone says, 'I've got a surprise for you; close your eyes.'
Waiting for the surprise to materialize, I close my eyes and cover them with cupped hands. My pulse quickens. Moments later I get the green light.
'Okay, open your eyes!'
I remove my hands, open my eyes, and discover my wonderful surprise.
The Father reveals the best surprises.
"Open my eyes, that I may see
Wondrous things from Your law (Psalm 119:18 NKJV)."
Sadly, I often fail to see His wonders and will because my eyes are spiritually closed. Why do I slight myself? The Father delights in revealing Himself.
"But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul (Deuteronomy 4:29 NKJV)."
LORD, please open my eyes of understanding. I seek your will and wisdom. In Jesus name. Amen.
