"O LORD, I give my life to you. I trust in you, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat. No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others. Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. (Psalm 25:1-5)
One of the most renowned lyrics of this new song "O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave" has remained famous down through history. America, in spite of protest by numerous un-American factions, continues to remain the land of the free and the home of the brave. However, I must admit, evil is rearing its ugly head as never before.
Is there an established conspiracy to harm America? If not, then why the chain of events now plaguing our country? Our once superior K-12 education system has been turned into a major socialistic indoctrination cesspool. God's word and prayer are now disallowed in the public square. Our patriotic holiday parades have been changed to x-rated pride displays. Unaccountable bureaucracies and legal justice systems have gone awry. The prevalence of fake news is now the norm in broadcasting. The once-great universities are reduced to kindergarten status, and the most powerful free economic system in the world is uncontrollable. I could go on and on.
Not to mention the many in the national public square, and in the political spectrum, who are working overtime to discredit and delegitimize this country’s recent national election.
What has happened to us and to this great land of ours called America? Simply put, it is the Satanic influence and strong hold on America. In (Ephesians 6:11-12), we see that we are fighting a war, a war like none other. It is not a war of traditional weaponry and trained man-power, but a war of spiritual warfare. It compels us, who believe in the power of prayer, to be in constant prayer to the Father, that He heal our land. (2 Chronicles 7:14) As the old adage relates, it is not over till it's over, and it will not be over till God says so. So pray.
Nonetheless, where are we, as a people, as a country, in God's plan for the ages? In (Matthew 24:3), Jesus' disciples were as concerned as we, and asked the very same question that we are asking. Jesus then responded by giving His great dissertation on the Signs of the Times. Please read Matthew Twenty-four.
In (2 Timothy 3:1), we are warned of the difficult times that will come in the last days. Are we now in these prophetic last days? If you are a student of Bible prophecy, it may be apparent that we probably are there, or if not there now, we are very close.
In (2 Timothy 3:2-4), we see a comprehensive laundry list of Satanic ideological and philosophical beliefs now confronting America, We will find that the demographics will be filled with lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient, to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
Wow, what a laundry list of Satanic exposure! We are exposed in activities like reading the daily newspaper, tuning in the TV nightly news, surfing the Internet, or, simply talking to that next door neighbor across the back yard fence. Would you not agree? I must say, these false beliefs, mentioned above, are not my opinion but that that of the Word of God.
Then in (2 Timothy 3:5) and (2 Timothy 3:7,8), we see that this laundry list is because mankind is holding to a form of godliness, by denying the power of God, and relying on false teaching of the Word. In other words, having the semblance of the Word, without its spiritual power. However, in (2 Timothy 3:9), we see that this evil process is limited as their works are exposed.
Even though we believers will be persecuted (2 Timothy 3:12), as this evil will proceed from bad to worse (2 Timothy 3:13), we believers will win out through the gospel. (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
So, what about the church? We see a church on nearly every street corner in America. So, why not a change in our country’s mindset? Simply put, the true Gospel (I Cor. 15:1-4) is not proclaimed in a large number of our churches today. People are no longer content to hear the sound teaching of the gospel, rather they are compelled to turn to many different "feel good" teachers of novelty and untruth, a "name it and claim it" gospel. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
So, what is the solution? Merely, returning to God of the Bible, returning to His holy principles in the home, in the work place, and in the public square. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
We must bring back the "Old Time" religion. What is this old time religion? Merely preaching the full gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4) and the church returning to the purpose of the salvation of the lost souls, the edification of the believers, the world wide proclamation of the gospel, and the promotion of Godly worship.
Will this happen in our homes, our work places, our public squares and our churches of America? I surely pray that it will. You see, it never ceases to amazing me how God is able to work through our human doubts and turn them into positive thoughts. Yes, God has a beautiful way of showing His faithfulness when we least expect or deserve it. (2 Timothy 2:13) So don't give up, America. God is always able to accomplish infinitely more than we might ever ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20)
Always remember, God is in control. Nothing happens unless He allows it, or controls it. (Psalm 90:1-9, 11-12) It may seem all is lost for a season, but our timetable is not His timetable. He places kings in authority, and removes kings as well (Daniel 2:19-23) and l He surely has His eye on America.
I trust that you not get down in the dumps, over some thoughts of this blog. As I mentioned at the beginning of this blog, prayer is a must in these troublesome times in which we are living. Jesus knew exactly what He was doing when He taught us to pray, "May Your Kingdom come soon. May Your will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)
Yes, there may be hills and valleys in these troubled times before we get to heaven, but get there we will, because of His free grace. Just keep looking up (Deuteronomy 3:24) for I have read the back of the book, and regardless of America's fallacies, we will win in the end. No one can stand against our all-powerful Creator. (Psalm 76:4,7-10)
