Thou hast given me hope
Remember the word unto thy servant upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
Lord help me to keep this hope alive, and fresh. Unto good works may this hope provoke.
What are some of the words so powerful and moving that they can give God’s people hope, and peace.
Encouragement comes in many forms and it can be a word as simple as “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”
All around us is confusion and most of the current events will only tell of strivings, violence, and wrath.
The Lord gives hope to his saints in this world with words like “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
The bible goes on to say that evil men shall wax worse and worse, I was at one time one of these to my inner core.
Yet the Lord gives me reason to hope, for he says “Thy sins, and thy iniquities will I remember no more.”
Knowing what manner of man I was and the problems I continually fight, I know not how I have such a pleasant lot.
Yet the Lord exhorts me with “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not.”
He goes on to say that “They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness” Giving me hope once again.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil to give you an expected end.”
I claim no victories on my own, for the Lord alone has kept me, he gives me hope and I have no merit of my own to boast.
And offers more hope to me “Now the God of hope fill you with all Joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
The Lord in tenderness lifts me up with words of hope, when desires of my heart seem to leave me as does my own breath.
Then I read in Mark, “Jesus said unto him if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”
Page after wonderful page the Lord reaching down in love to offer hope to another undeserving, ever wavering saint.
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint.
So many verses, on so many different pages, in different books of the bible, and all with one design. God’s own people to bless.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
In conclusion “we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”.
Remember the word unto thy servant upon which thou hast caused me to hope. This hope gives me purpose.
