Isn’t it wonderful to know how God cherishes our walk with Him? To start with, you may agree with me that God values so much our relationship with Him. From the very beginning, when God created Adam and Eve, His intention was to keep our relationship up-close with Him. However, this was short lived when Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating the fruit of the forbidden tree.
Genesis 3:8-9 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? This is what’s happening in our current generation. We are running away from God’s presence.
We are walking in our own path forgetting that we need God in every day of our lives. We have lost track and disobeyed our creator by sinning against God. Upon realizing that we have sinned before the Lord, we tend to run away and hide, just like Adam and his wife Eve who hid themselves from God’s presence. They never wanted to be close with God because they were ashamed. Are we running away from God? Would you rather run away or stay closer to God? Definitely the latter! In Romans 5:19 the Word says, For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Here, Jesus became the sacrificial lamb who took all our sins on the cross. That judgment has been taken away for all those that believe in Jesus. He died for us ALL. Why? To bring us back to God! How will this happen? By believing in God’s son, Jesus. Isn’t that amazing? I call that ‘LOVE’. No one could love us so much like that especially when we have wronged that person. But God is LOVE. He doesn’t love like man. His LOVE is incomparable! He wants to keep our relationship intact with Him!
Finally, John 15:7 says, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” Wow! What a promise. This promise is for us all who have that desire to live for Christ. Do we need anything from God? Then we must let Jesus’ words abide in us, not only that but first we must abide in Him! That is how to be up-close with Jesus! How I pray that our desire will always be to be closer to Jesus than ever before. Just like we need to be with our children whom we love, so does God. You have a family that you love, God too has a family that He loves so much, you and I.
