HUMILITY
Freelance writer Lupie Riley
Thought: As a believer humility is a character trait that should automatically be a part of our human nature. Meekness and humility go hand in hand. It's a complete abandonment of self unto the perfect will of God. There were many biblical characters that demonstrated this trait through their actions and words. Paul said of himself that he was the chief of sinners and the least of the Apostles. John the Baptist said he wasn't even qualified to carry Jesus sandals. Mary, Lazareth's sister, chose to sit at the feet of Jesus and take in His words of wisdom.
Blessings come with humility and obedience to the Word of God. Because of his love for humanity Jesus demonstrated the essence of this word by his sacrifice on the cross (the lamb of God.) He offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who by faith believe in who he is and what he's done for them. He also taught us about the servant hood attitude that follows humility in his actions in the upper room at the last supper. The disciples were assembled for a communal meeting and there were no servants presents to wash the dust off their feet which was the ongoing custom. Jesus put on a towel and proceeded to wash their feet much to their astonishment. They thought of him as a leader and King, not a servant. This was a valuable lesson they learned that day.
We as followers and born again believers are to do as Jesus does serving one another in lowliness of heart and mind desiring to build one another up in humility and love. Have you made that decision yet to invite him into your life. Now is the time for Salvation. Confess your need for the Savior, receive his forgiveness and open your hearts door to His presence. Maranatha
Prayer: Father God, thank you for the valuable lessons I learn from the acts and miracles Jesus performed while he walked on this planet Earth. I now have the opportunity to fellowship with him on a daily basis in Spirit because of his death and resurrection. Help me to demonstrate this Jesus humility to all those around me as I go about my daily activities. Amen
John 13:16 "How true it is that a servant is not greater than his master. Nor the messenger more important than the one who sends him. You know these things--now do them! That is the path of blessing."
