A Message for Sarah
The Lord is always speaking to us. The question is: Are we listening? Today I had the pleasure of attending a local church. I had planned to attend a different church. I was very early for the service. I told the Lord that I didn’t want to wait an entire hour until the service began. My mind immediately flashed to what the Lord said to His disciples: Can you not wait with me but one hour? I went to a local store to kill some time. In the meantime, I pulled up the internet on my phone. I researched other churches in the area whose services began more immediately. But, alas, I was led right back to the church I first went. It was meant to be.
I sat in a seat in front of a woman and young child. I met a woman named Sarah. Sarah still grieved the loss of her mother, even though her mother has been departed for many years. She shared, with tears in her eyes, that her mother was her best friend. As she reminisced, her face took on a glow. She explained that, when her mother was alive, she had lost two children. She was a woman of God. Despite the loss of her children, her mother always got up, got dressed and went to the house of the Lord. During her grief, she was frequently found there. Sarah said that she had fallen into depression and neglected going to church. The Lord had me to comfort my sister in Christ by telling Sarah that her mother was in a place of exceeding joy! Sarah confided that one of her sisters challenged that, Sarah ought to do the same thing as her mother. Continue going to the house of the Lord, even in her times of sorrow.
Sarah also shared that the Lord would often use her four year old granddaughter to ask both her mother, and her grandmother to get ready so that they could go to church. During the service, the Lord prompted me to use these words “There is no junior sized Holy Spirit”. There is only One Spirit given to all mankind. I asked the Lord to make an occasion in which I could share this message with Sarah. I was visiting this church, having only attended once – many months ago. After the service, I went back to my seat to gather my things. I looked up and Sarah was gone!
I went outside and made my way toward my car. It was during this time that I saw Sarah out of the corner of my eye. I called her name. She stopped to bid me farewell. As I hugged her, I told her that I had a message to her from the Lord. I said:
“Continue to listen to the Spirit of God, as He speaks through your granddaughter. I know you do already, but continue. Even though she is only a child, there is no such thing as a junior sized Holy Spirit. The Lord’s Spirit is upon her”. She listened with rapt attention. I further told her that I was not even supposed to be at the church this day. I was to be someplace else. We both marveled at God’s purpose, this day, at this very moment, for each of us!
I had planned to be at a different church this day; but it didn’t work out that way. And I am very glad for it.
I have often heard; if you want to hear God laugh, tell Him your plans.
