The division of the land of Israel by making part of it a Palestinian State has taken center stage in the news. Not only does this have political ramifications but it most likely will, if not reversed, bring intense judgment upon America. The division would reportedly be "permanent." I put the word "permanent" in quotation marks because man's doings can easily be altered by God. He has the final say about what happens to Israel.
Because of Obama's anti-Israel stance it was feared that he would be the first U.S. president to allow a United Nation's vote to pass in support of a Palestinian State. Why was this a fear? Aside from the issue of messing around with Israel, Genesis 12:3 clearly states that those who curse this nation will be cursed, and those who bless it will be blessed. Obama has been determined to get his own way, but it is Almighty God who will get the last laugh. Unfortunately, however, America could become the victim of such a decision. The title of an article by Michael Snyder says it all: "Obama Betrays Israel at the United Nations - Is America's Reprieve Now Over?" Snyder also has written an article listing 10 times in recent history where America has been hit by destructive disasters close to the same day when the then-President made a decision to go against the land of Israel.
Sources indicate that Obama told the Palestinians to wait until after the election for his decision to veto or support the dividing of Israel. This placed it somewhere between the election and the inauguration. Well, as we know now, the vote was taken on December 23, 2016, passing 14-0 in favor of the Palestinians, with Obama abstaining. (President-elect Trump warned Obama not to do this.)
If you know history, you will recall that in 1967 Israel was engaged in a 6-day war. It won against incredible odds, and by what many believe to be divine intervention. As a result, it gained new territory. God has already determined the boundaries of this nation, beginning in Genesis 15:18-21 and continuing in subsequent passages. Dividing the land God gave to the Jewish people can have severe consequences. The U.N. vote would cut back the territory to the pre-1967 cease fire lines and stated that the Israeli settlements in Palestine are no longer legally valid. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he does not intend to abide by the decision, and will "not turn the other cheek."
It gets worse! Not only did Obma allow the vote to pass by his abstention, but there is evidence that he was behind gaining support for the proposal. Breitbart News posted a report by Ynetnews.com stating, "Ukraine's decision to vote in favor of the resolution appears to demonstrate the extent to which US President Barack Obama was behind the decision." The articles goes on to say that Ukranian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, a Jew and supporter of Israel, had preferred that his country not be involved in the U.N. decision. After a call from Joe Biden he changed his position and voted for it. So much for Obama getting everyone on board! Further it has been revealed by an Eqyptian paper what is being claimed are transcripts of meetings held between U.S. and Palestinian officials in support of the move. There is still more. Michael Snyder has posted another article about John Kerry drawing up a proposal to make an official Palestinian State. So, is America going to get a double blow of God's judgment before January 20? Donald Trump has said that come that date things will be different at the U.N. I am not so sure seeing that it has been reported that Obama is in the running for the open seat of U.N. Secretary General.
This whole saga is going to get even more intense now that Trump, a staunch supporter of Israel, will be in office. At the same time that the U.N. resolution included making East Jerusalem the capitol of Palestine, Trump has already made a decision that he will move the American Embassy to Jerusalem. It will be very interesting to say the least, to see how all of this plays out.
Ultimately, it is not a battle between two political persuasions but between man's intentions and God's divine agenda. In the final analysis God will win. The next supernatural intervention we will see, in my opinion, will be on behalf of Israel, and it will happen in such a way that will leave the world leaders wondering what happened (just like in the presidential election). God already intervened for Israel during the recent Hamas war by supernaturally deflecting missiles.
The big question is how will all of this affect America? At the present time it does not look good. Right now as I write this, the U.S. Congress is considering withdrawing all financial support for the U.N. unless this decision is reversed. Let's hope they do. One thing is for sure. As stated in Psalm 115:3, "But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases," according to man's attitude toward him and to fulfill his divine plan. There comes a time when God steps in and makes everything go according to his desire. God will have his way with Israel, and he will have his way with America.
