ANSWERED PRAYER
Freelance writer Lupie Riley
Thought: The outcome of this election was a 'God thing'. He heard the prayers of His people on behalf of America and performed a Nineveh reprieve holding off judgment in a city whose stench of their wickedness went to the highest heaven. Were all familiar with the story of Jonah who tried to hide from God. His mission was to inform the people of Nineveh that impending judgment was awaiting them in the near future. After three days in the belly of a whale he decided he'd better follow through with God's instructions. The people repented and came back to the Lord and the destruction of their city was canceled.
America was headed down the same path but it's people cried out to God for forgiveness and grace. The Word says that the prayers of the righteous has wonderful results. We were eye witness to that grace and restoration. I also credit Franklin Graham for the rally's he held in each state encouraging the people to pray for repentance and to avoid the impending judgment they were bringing upon themselves because of their sins. There were thousands in each state that joined him in prayer.
Also did anyone notice that the threat of violence from terrorists that Monday before elections never happened? Only by God's intervention...a "God thing." God will bless America again but that doesn't mean we should fall back into complacency. We need to continue to pray for our new leader for his safety and that of his family members, strength and wisdom to make the right decisions for the welfare of this nation and the unity of it's people. GOD BLESS AMERICA !!
Prayer: Father God, I thank you with a grateful heart that it was in your plans for America to be great again. Through the leadership of our new President we can be a country that is 'under God' with liberty and justice for all. Amen
Verse: James 5:16 LB "Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results. "
