What is that I see in the eye of a veteran?
Is it a glimmer of hope for America?
The stooped Vet refuses to settle for days gone by. He or she believes that patriotism’s fires are not snuffed out. Uncle Sam may need his flame rekindled but he still lives.
Love for family, freedom and abiding faith in God lives deep within the hearts of our veterans.
“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13 NKJV).”
Look closer. What is that in the corner of veteran’s eye?
Is it a tear?
Have loneliness and despair taken hold?
Sadly, many of those who have served are neglected and ignored.
If given the opportunity, visit a Veteran’s home. Smile. Shake hands.
Look a veteran in the eye.
Say, ‘Happy Veteran’s Day. Thank you for serving your country!’
