Healing
“The lamp of the Lord searches the spirit of a man; it searches out his inmost being.” (Prov. 20:27 NIV)
Have you, now that you have come to Christ, allowed the Lord to search your heart..your spirit? Or do you close yourself off from the scrutiny of His Word?
You need not fear such a microscopic search of your innermost being. Every dealing the Lord has with his children, is tempered with kindness, and always, always for our profit!
In our journey with the Lord, He wants to bring us to a place where we are willing to take a risk, and trust Him.
As we allow the Lord to probe our heart with the light of His Word, by His Spirit He is able to go deep into the hidden crevices that we cannot see, nor do we know they exist. He wants to bring them to the surface so they can be dealt with, and we, in turn, can be healed.
God’s Word is the standard by which He measures the good, the bad, and the ugly motives of our heart.
Will you allow Him to place you on the operating table, cut you open and probe around with the light of His Word? He will gently, and with discretion expose and remove everything offensive to Him, to you, and to others.
Here's good news! He doesn’t only want to reveal the bad and the ugly, but He wants to also show you and me the good motives He has placed in our hearts.
Once again, it is measured by the Word of God. From the probing light of His Word, we begin to see ourselves in the light of Truth.
When the accuser comes around to harasses us, lie to us, and to remind us of our past sins, we can boldly proclaim,
“Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other! Who is my accuser? Let him confront me! It is the Sovereign Lord who helps me.” (Isaiah 50: 8,9 NIV)
What right do we have to make this proclamation? We have allowed the Lord to probe our heart with the light of His Word.
We can deal with the good, the bad, and the ugly because the anesthesia he uses for our surgery is LOVE.

Amen! And what a blessed Word it is! We will never know just what the will of God is in our lives until we allow Him free reign with our hearts. He wants to bring us into perfection... HIS righteousness. And it is through the cleansing power of the Word of God that true cleansing... HEART cleansing takes place. Sometimes, what He exposes to us isn't pretty... but in those occasions, as Paul said to the Corinthians, it is a sorrow that leads to repentance. And THAT, we can be thankful for.
