Encouragement
Details, details, details, be sure to look at everything down to the minutia. Is that the best way? Or perhaps, we simply pray, consult the Lord, and let Him handle the rest. Often times we spend so much of our time thinking and worrying instead of meditating on God’s word and asking Him for direction. There are so many scriptures in the Bible that teach us what to do, if only we could let go and let God.
Proverbs 3: 5-6 (NIV) clearly instructs us to trust God and not to lean on our own understanding. Let’s face it with some of the tests and trials that we go through our understanding cannot decipher why certain circumstances take place in our lives. But, we must trust that He who made this earth, the Creator, our Sovereign God knows all. Nothing surprises Him--ultimately, He is in control. When we have decisions to make, it should be second nature for us to acknowledge Him so that He can direct our paths. How many times have we been bold enough to take things into our own hands only to make a complete mess? Trust me, I have. Then what do we do? Then we come to Jesus and ask for help when all we had to do was check with Him first.
When we focus on God and make Him the center of our lives, we have a peace that passes all understanding. With Christ we can make it through the most difficult of times. His grace is sufficient to help us overcome. And we have a testimony that can be shared with others, the greatness of our Heavenly Father. Psalms 145:7 (NIV) says, “Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.”
No matter what is going on. No matter how hard it gets. When we’re backed up against a wall and it seems as though all is lost—it isn’t. There is a reason “why” to everything that happens. We may not comprehend it, but our only requirement is to have faith and trust God. Maybe there is a lesson to learn, maybe someone needs our experience to help them. Whatever the case maybe, look to Jesus Who is the author and finisher of our faith. John 10:29 (NIV) states, “My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.” Don’t worry, we are safe in the Master’s hands.
It isn’t easy letting go and giving our burdens to the Lord, but it’s worth it. God wants to use us. We are vessels that can share the love of God to others. So spend the time believing whole heartedly and meditating on His word. Time is running out and the race that is set before us is a marathon. It is not for the faint at heart, but God will give us the strength to finish the course. Hebrews 10:23 (NIV) says “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” It’s that simple, God is faithful and I promise you, He won’t let you down—ever! I know, He has never failed me.
