Encouragement
Wait For the Promise… (Acts 1:4)
“And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, ‘which’, He said, ‘you have heard from Me’.”
These words were spoken by our Lord Jesus after His resurrection, when He prepared His disciples for His transition to Heaven. It was about the fulfillment of the promise of the Holy Spirit coming upon the people of the newly born church. Today these words are from Jesus to you His precious Bride, as He assures you that words of prophecy spoken over your life will be fulfilled. Perhaps you have heard an exciting word from the Lord many months ago and you are wondering when you will see things come to pass.
Wait for the promise to be fulfilled! As much as we would like to see things happen instantly, (and they often do) there is often a waiting time. This is like a period of gestation, when the word which has been spoken takes root and develops in a person’s spiritual womb. Perhaps you have been concerned by a lack of signs that the promises for your life are being fulfilled, but be encouraged and know that your breakthrough is nearly here! There has been something happening in the invisible realm, which you will soon see manifested in the physical. In the meantime, God would have you nurture what is soon to be seen by your 1) positive expectation, your 2) Word based confession, and your 3) faith filled prayers. Your agreement with what the Holy Spirit has begun in your life will bring it forth, as step by step you thank God and look for the new thing He is doing. King David said “I will wait for the Lord…” because he had seen that God is good and that He always keeps His Word. You may often be tempted to step out and do something to make God’s word “happen”, but anything the Lord has in His heart for us is always so much better than anything that we could think up for ourselves. God has an “exceedingly abundantly” for you. He has an amazing answer to your prayers. He has a real and permanent solution to your need, which you could never make happen for yourself. All things are possible with God so wait for Him!
The promise you received is from the Father, the One who never lies (Numbers 23:19) or changes His mind. He is the amazing Father of the heavenly lights (James 1:17) who never changes and who only gives us good and perfect gifts. His plans for us are always good (Jeremiah 29:11) and He has dreams in His heart for you and me which exceed the greatest ambitions any earthly father could have. We have a Father who loves us with an everlasting love, who draws us into the holy passion of His heart that we might live and move and breathe in Him. He is the Father who calls us ever upwards and onwards and says to us even today “Come up here and see what I will show you”. He has increase and an upgrade for you, as He says “From strength to strength I am taking you” (Psalm 84:7). What He has promised you will always come to pass, because His Word will never return to Him void, which means that it will always accomplish the purpose for which it was sent. You can trust the Father. You can expect every one of His promises to be fulfilled! They are the Word of God and they are the voice of Jesus, which are becoming “flesh” in you.
Dear friend, there are numerous promises from the Father which you are going to see explode into your life as you begin to expect their fulfillment, and you look for them in faith. You are stepping into a season of “Yes” and “Amen”, but the Lord Jesus says to you “Wait for your promise to be fulfilled. Wait for the Father to come through for you”! Old things have passed away and the new has indeed come, hallelujah! I pray for the strength and peace of the Holy Spirit to so fill your heart and mind that you will see the Word take root and manifest its fullest fruit. There is a miracle waiting to happen in your life because you believe!
