I have not heard a great deal about America as a melting pot in recent years.
In the past our diversities of heritage, customs and traditions were viewed as strengths. Although blending in a proverbial melting pot, people still gathered with those from same or similar backgrounds.
We are inclined to form our closest relationships with those we easily identify with.
Though separate from mankind in that He never sinned; Jesus is one of us.
“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted (Hebrews 2:17-18 NKJ).”
Jesus knows where we are coming from. He paid the supreme sacrifice to lead us home.
