Peel back the layers and look deeply inside;
Where has the seed of the Word fallen?
Perhaps it has settled on rock, hardened
By cynicism, bitterness or pride.
The Word blown away, tossed aside,
By stubbornness, rebellion, independence.
Has if fallen amongst weeds and thorns?
A seedling choked by distractions of the times.
Overridden and overruled by the must haves of this age.
Petty first world concerns pout for attention.
The self-life squanders new life.
Yet the fruit of the seed is gathered a hundredfold
In a heart that is tilled with openness, willingness.
A heart made rich, ready, by a humble spirit, a
Surrendered spirit.
Let the seed of the Word fall,
Let the heart receive,
Let the growing begin,
Let it be nurtured, nourished.
Let it flourish!
Let the season of reaping come,
And the harvest overflow with blessings for all.
