The word author in accordance with the Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary says it means "originator, one that originates or gives existence." The word ghost writer in accordance with the same source states "to write for in the name of another or to write for another who is the presumed author." The Bible, God's word is written by roughly 44 ghost writers, not authors, there is but one author, God Himself. It is His word, not theirs. These ghost writers were blessed and privileged to write God's book, the world's best seller. It was to them, divinely inspired, and some with visions, some were actual witnesses to events and some were being persecuted while writing it. Most study Bibles list the author of each book in the beginning of each book of the bible, but I say it's more accurate to call them the ghost writers. In the same study bibles, it even states that the author of the book of Hebrews is unknown, what rubbish!!! What they are referring to is the ghost writer, NOT the author. I was sitting in a Sunday School class one morning and after the opening prayer, the teacher, who was teaching from Romans, began this way, the book of Romans is considered to be Paul's masterpiece. I quickly and politely protested and asked who's masterpiece was it? Then the teacher, quickly caught on what I was driving at and agreed that what he was reading was incorrect, it was indeed, God's masterpiece. I did not like to do what I did, and would have rather have done what I did in private, but then none of the others would have received the benefit of that knowledge.
