Poetry
I walked out among the grass and flowers
On a soft morning in the spring
The air was fresh and smelled so clean
The trees green and still
I heard the sweet song of a bird
It thrilled my heart
To feel the beauty around me
I wondered for a moment
Could anything be more perfect
God answered
Heaven is
The beauty around you now
Is only temporary
The grass will soon turn brown and die
The fragrant flowers will too soon
Wilt and fade away
The air will be filled
With the smells of decay
The trees will drop their leaves
The branches become dry and brittle
The birds will fly away
To a better place they go
My child, you can also go
To a better place
If you desire it and believe
My heaven will never lose its beauty
It can be yours for eternity
But Lord I asked
How long is eternity?
Let a tiny sparrow carry away
One grain of sand at a time
Beyond the rainbow
Put down that grain of sand
Fly back for another
Do this until the whole of earth
Is entirely gone
How long would that take?
Oh Lord I answered humbly
It would take forever
No my child
It would be but the blink of an eye
In eternity
