You look upon your child at play,
a Crayon in his hand.
He's hard at work creating something
colorful and grand.
And when he's through, your eyes fill up,
your heart is really glad.
Below his finished masterpiece, the words
I LOVE YOU DAD.
Though the drawing's childish, you'd not
trade for any prize.
The innocence of precious love, the
trust in your child's eyes.
You pick him up and kiss his cheek, and
hold him to your chest.
Of all your life's experience, these
moments are the best.
This is how to please our Lord, to love
Him as a child.
To try to please Him, trust Him for
His Love and Mercy mild.
For though you think you've naught to give,
it may come as surprise.
It's the little things we do for Him,
that's pleasing in His eyes.
