Thank you for your current lesson of attaining a peaceful heart amidst trials.
In your Word, it repeats that we are to feel peace and joy with trials. Some things I “get” and this has not been one of them. It has been impossible to put on a happy face when I receive a problem, large or small. My happy faces have been reserved for “peaks” in life.
As I study Hebrews, your lesson is starting to click. “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews 12:11
I am sure you notice that I have been “resisting” your trials. You heard my prayer of “Lord, please help me to accept your trials quickly” and answered. My problem has been the transition phase between receiving the trial and accepting it, not the trial itself. You are showing me that the energy I use to battle the trial can be used to say, “Oops, another difficulty is here, what do you want me to do with this? Show me your way.” And you do. Thank you Jesus.
P.S. May I have a cookie for learning this hard lesson? Discipline is better with a cookie at the end. :)
