Peaceful and quiet in respect for the Lord
Busyness halted, all shopping stalled
Hymns playing on the radio
Melodious voices singing along....
"What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer"
Time for Sunday School
Dress in your best
Offering in your pocketbook
Hat on your head.
Smile on your face
Greeting folks as you go
Strolling along to the house of the Lord.
Worshiping in quiet solitude or
Timbrels ringing in the air
Hands to the sky, eyes raised
The island people offering praise
Thanking God for all He's done
Trusting Him to take them along.
Sunday dinner specially made
Rice and peas a must on the plates
Talking and laughter, happy together
Sitting outside enjoying the breeze
Maybe reading a book or catching some sleep.
Island Sundays are the best.
Thank you Lord for such a gift.
