Apologetics
I ask a question on Facebook recently, "How do you know you are saved?" Here is my response to those who couldn't answer.
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;” – Romans 3:23. The Bible also says that “The wages of sin is death;” (Rom. 6:23a); because of the sins we have committed we have earned death – separation from God for eternity in a place of torment. “Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” – Revelation 20:15
But, The rest of Romans 6:23 says, “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” God sent his only son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sin. As God, come in the flesh was the perfect and holy sacrifice, the only thing that could wash away sin. "..How Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” – 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4. The fact that he not only died for our sins, but that he also rose from the dead and ascended into heaven means that he has power over sin and death; the power to save you from it.
You have a choice to accept what Jesus has done for you; just repent, believe, ask, and receive.
Repent: Acts 3:19 – “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted 0ut,”. Repentance means to turn from your sin and give it up.
Believe: Acts 16:31 – “…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” Belief is "Faith". Like turning a light switch and knowing the lights will come on. You must believe Jesus is all that he said he was and that he died for your sin.
Ask: Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Talk to God – tell him you’re sorry, tell him you accept his sacrifice, ask him to forgive you and save you. He is real and he will hear you.
Receive: John 1:12 – “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” If you really believe and really meant it, then God has kept his promises and has forgiven you of your sin and made you his child.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
If your not devoted to God and his word; If you don't love God and his word; If you don't crave His word and spending time with God. YOUR NOT SAVED.....
Congratulation: I won't say you're saved. Only God knows that.
God Bless. See you soon.
