U nless you’re born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God, my friend pleaded:
N ever in my life had someone told me to be born again, how can these things be?
P erfect peace I could have—if I simply obeyed God’s command to be born again.
R epent today, my good friend, he said, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
E nter the kingdom of God by being born again by the water and The Spirit.
D ecide to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ—no other name—that’s it.
I pressed both of my hands to my head, and thought for a minute and said:
C an you explain again, my good friend, very slowly so I can understand?
T ell me in a simple way, and give me a real life example so I can relate?
A sk yourself this question, he said, What in my life makes me feel elated?
B y giving Christmas presents to my children, I feel the joy of the season!
L ifting up my brother with cancer, and giving him hope to go on with a reason.
E xcellent answers: how much more will God give His Spirit when you ask Him!
P ray Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name—Jesus—repent of your sin.
R eally? My life until this turning point was a meaningless predictable routine:
E veryone warned me I was going down a dangerous path since I was a teen.
D id I listen? Did I care? I refused to listen and told myself I don’t care;
I continued on the path of destruction to a destination I didn’t know where.
C alming voices crossed my path and tried to tell me to turn around now,
A ll the while I refused to change, filled with my pride, my way, my vow.
M ake amends with your family, they said, and turn your life over to Jesus:
E nter into the kingdom of heaven today, for He is the One who sees us.
N icodemus had questions, and so did I, but my friend gave me God’s Word,
T aking it to heart, I obeyed and am born again! Now I have eternal life assured.
